How Does a Website Build Work?
Upon choosing your plan, we will have a 30-60 minute conversation about your goals, vision, and functionality needs.
Within 3 days of this conversation I will produce one or two (your choice) website designs which will be our starting point.
After the style is decided, the ball is in your court to provide me with your content written content, and photo content if you have personal photos you want to use. Your site will be complete in 5 (one page site) – 20 (very large site) business days.
After the development is complete, we work on revisions. You will provide edits/ changes you want made.
After the build is approved, we go live!
Do I need hosting and a domain?
Yes. I have recommendations for hosting/domain bundles, but you’re free to choose the service yourself. The smoothest builds start with managed wordpress hosting.
For an additional charge I will coordinate a transfer of your old domain to your new host of choice and build the site on my server before transferring it to your new host. Hosting and domain are available through Zaubermausi Design Haus on a case-by-case basis
Will my site look good on a phone?
Yes! All websites are fully optimized for most commen screen sizes.
What is a one-page site?
One-page sites are a simple and effective solution suitable for many situations. Using “anchor” tags, your site’s menu bar gives the illustion of a full site by having page names to take the user to a specific, defined section of one long page instead of a separate page. You can check this out by clicking on my “contact” button above. Not only is this lightweight and affordable, but it is also specialized for the mobile experience.
Perfect for personal/ CV sites, bands, artisans, one-time or recurring events, restaurants, portfolios, brick-and-mortar retail, or any business wanting a simple, digestible site to get users what they want, quickly. Almost any site can be a one-page site.
What are your websites built with?
Websites are build using WordPress and Elegant Themes’ “Divi” theme.
What is a responsive Website and why do i need one?
Responsiveness is key for user experience and your website’s success as a whole. A responsive website adapts to your screen size- mobile, tablet, desktop, etc. Websites are tested in most common screen sizes. Many websites use plugins to modify a site for different types of screens, but a truly responsive website looks like it was made for whatever screen it’s on.
The vast majority of all website visitors will use a mobile device. While many businesses “get away with” an outdated site, a responsive site is integral in getting visitors and keeping them.
I broke my site. Now What?
Most Issues can be cleared up within an hour, so my hourly rate ($100) would be used.
Minor fixes are covered by maintenance plans.
Major breaks may be referred out, especially if the issue is rooted in DNS, php, hosting, etc.

Is there a down payment?
Yes, there is a non-refundable down payment of 30%.
Is your build-you-own-website workshop kid-friendly?
Absolutely! If your child is 12+ and comfortable with a computer, this course will be more than accessible.
Do you provide website content?
One-page and traditional websites will include enough stock photos (my choice) to fill in your site. You may select up to five stock photos from shutterstock.com for no additional charge. Deluxe build comes with unlimited stock photos.
I do not provide written content, except for with the deluxe build. Written content produced may require your input – I’m likely not an expert in your field. However, with an English degree I should only need a little direction from your expertise.
Do you do SEO?
While we may provide this service in the future, at the time we do not.
All websites are “SEO friendly,” meaning they use the appropriate data that makes your site attractive to google. Dedicated SEO services, however, are not included in any package
Can you rush my project?
Yes. I offer there is a 15% increase in the quoted price and it must be paid up front.
